I love to keep my coastal style even when it’s cold outside. It’s mid-November and it already feels like winter but that’s no reason for me to put away my stripes just yet. Take a look at some of my current Fall favorites and I think you’ll see what I mean:
Anchor Necklace – Anchors work no matter the season!
Striped sweaters – exchange your striped tees for some cozy knit striped sweaters
Plaid scarf – I love the New England-y feel of plaid for Fall
Tassel bags – Keep it coastal with lots of ocean blues
Anchor Stud Earrings – Stud earrings are perfect for Fall because they won’t catch on any of your knits
Cable knit gloves – It hasn’t snowed yet but it definitely feels cool enough for gloves!
Rain boots – While you might not be ready to break out your winter boots just yet, these cozy rain boots fit the bill for Fall and I love the pop of turquoise on the bottom
I love this classic nautical photoshoot Elle Macpherson did for ELLE Australia! There’s even a very cozy and affordable sweater from H&M that I’ve got my eye on. Check it out!
Plaid always feels so right for Fall but at the same time I don’t want to give up my stripes. What’s a girl to do? Combine favorites! Mixing and matching patterns for the perfect Fall outfit is a great way to wear your favorite pieces together. Take a look:
Today I’m sharing my top 10 Fall outfits that are effortlessly casual and easy to recreate. Most of these items you probably have in your closet, it’s just a matter of putting them together! How easy is that?! I’ve already started digging out my Fall clothes from the back of my closet. I love to play around with combining Summer and Fall pieces, especially this time of year when it can go from 80’s one day to 60’s the next! I think the most important thing for dressing this time of year is to not have an outfit entirely made of all Fall pieces or all Summer pieces. It leaves a disconnect as it always feels like September is stuck between Summer and Fall.
This time of year it can be a little harder to find something to wear. The chilly mornings and evenings with mid-day being in the 80s! My secret to an easy transitional Fall outfit is to use pieces you already have. Take a few items from your Summer wardrobe and one or two from your Fall clothes to layer over. It’s that easy! If you’re going to wear jeans, pair it with a t-shirt and bring a sweater or jacket. Same goes for if you’re going to wear shorts or a skirt, pair it with a long sleeve top and a light sweater.
