I’m excited to share my top nail polish trends for 2018 with you! The past two weeks I’ve been giving my nails a break from nail polish (always a good thing!) but now I’m ready to head back to the nail salon with some trending new nail art ideas. Take a look at the top five trends I’ve uncovered for 2018.
Shimmer is in and glitter is out! Shimmering nail polish is back for 2018 and the best part about it? It’s so much easier to remove than glitter!
Pink is my current color of choice for the shimmer trend!
Simple minimalist nail art is back on trend. If you’re ever in a hurry these nail designs are usually quick and easy to achieve.
This is another favorite of mine!
3D nail art is a fun way to take your nail polish to new heights (literally). I especially love these starfish nails below! I recommend not over doing it and keeping it to a max of 4 – 5 nails.
Along with shimmering nail polish, silver and gold are trending for 2018. I love the pop of metallic for Spring and Summer 2018.
When you know the rules you also learn how to break them. Purposefully painting your nails so they look grown out is a new trend for 2018 and one that I’m oddly loving!
For Valentine’s Day this year I’m all about sparkly nail art. The more sparkle the better! I’m also still loving that rose gold nail polish trend from last year. It seems so fitting for a romantic holiday like Valentine’s Day. Take a peek and grab some inspiration:
a little glitz and glam goes a long way!
I love the idea of just one sparkling heart
If you want to skip the glitter but not the sparkle, add some of these metallic dots!
tiny hearts are still sweet
If you’re keeping it simple, just a pretty shade of pink does the trick!

Island Paradise is one of the pantone colors for 2017 and I love this color for everything from nails to furniture!
Metallic nails are big for the beginning of 2017 and not just the usually gold and silver. Think colorful metallics for 2017!
Copper was a huge trend for the home in 2016 but for 2017 expect to be seeing it on fingertips instead!
The nude nail trend continues into 2017 with just a hint of pink.
Lapis blue is another pantone color for 2017. Add a matte coat to this bold color for a luxe look.

For holiday nail art this year I’m all about the sparkle! Whether it’s full on bling or subtle hints of gold, I’m all over it. The good thing about adding some sparkle to your mani/pedi routine is that it doesn’t need to be difficult. A simple swipe across the top of your tips can have you leaving the nail salon feeling much more festive. Also have you seen the plaid nail trend? Check it out:
Just a bit of bling is perfect for Christmas or New Year’s Eve!

For Spring nail art I’m all about the easier and simpler designs. I spent the winter dotting and dabbing to try and conquer tricky nail designs but now that the weather is warming up, I really want some easy nail art that gives me more time outside. Take a look at seven of my favorite nail art ideas for Spring:
Color block your nails with a nude shade and a pop of pink
Add some geometric shapes with glitter
The broken glass nail art trend is on point for Spring!
Watercolor nail art is another super easy design to achieve just dilute a color you already have with a clear polish
Simple stripes get a touch of glitter for Spring
The marble effect takes longer than 5 minutes but I love the look!
Nude polish works no matter the season
