This past weekend I did one of my favorite things, I visited Coney Island for its 2018 Mermaid Parade! Coney Island is one of those places that epitomizes what Summer is. The blue skies and golden sands of the beach offer a charming backdrop for a vibrant carnival, nestled in between is the boardwalk, that’s filled with little tchotchke shops and Italian ice stands. You can see more pics and videos on my Instagram page! Look for the “Mermaid Parade” in my highlight reel.
After the mermaid parade, we decided to go for a trip on the Wonder Wheel. A well-known ferris wheel at Coney Island. It allows you to get a full view of the carnival, boardwalk and beach. Not only that but it’s a fun part of the history of Coney Island, the Wonder Wheel has been around since 1920!
There’s such more more to do at the Coney Island Mermaid Parade then what I’m showing. We also stopped by the original Nathan’s hot dog restaurant for lunch, as well as, Coney’s Cones for ice cream! You can see from the pic above that there are so many more rides than just the Wonder Wheel and at night everything is light up. So come stop by next year or even join in the Mermaid Parade!
